Hello and Welcome
Now that I am living back in Scotland I think that I will relate to some not so well known Scottish recipes. Not the usual Haggis neeps and tatters, porridge and deep fried Mars Bars! Yes it is true the majority of "Chippys" serve mars bars deep fried in batter. Who ever thought of that idea I don\\\'t know, but it proved very popular--simple but effective Talking about deep frying I heard of a cell phone being dipped in batter and fried. It was during an argument in a chippy when one customer got so fed up with the consant chatter of a "mobile phone user" he grabbed the phone and told theperson who was frying to batter it and fry it. I don\\\'t think the phone worked after that!
Fish suppers are a staple died of a lot of Scots, can be bought any time during the day or night when a shop is open. The meal consists of two portions of fish usually Haddock with a load of chips--not french fried but good honest to God fried chips. Potatoes cut in strips an inch thick. Nice and greasy soft and light brown in clour.
